Chairousel

In May of 2019, the Chairousel was installed in Times Square as part of the NYCxDesign Design Pavillion. NYCxDesign’s annual citywide celebration of design showcases artists, schools, studios, and companies with unique artistic visions. Students of the School of Visual Arts designed and executed 20 chairs each depicting their personal inspirations.

The popsicle bench was inspired by childhood nostalgia and my love for popsicles. I wanted to evoke the universal experience of being a messy faced kid with a melting popsicle in hand. The popsicle bench was displayed on the “Chairousel” for 12 days in Times Square.
